Tsubo: Japanese for Pressure Point

Tsubo is the Japanese word for 'pressure point'. The brand name was inspired by the principles of reflexology, which has influenced the construction of the shoe. Tsubo shoes are crafted by highly skilled workman using quality materials, to produce a sophisticated and intelligently designed product that is both stylish and comfortable.

TSUBO is an alternative choice for those who have become disenchanted with over complicated and over distributed athletic footwear. TSUBO creates shoes for a new movement, a movement grounded in the philosophies of the East but with the pragmatism of the West. The new movement seeks to relieve stress and pressure, by allowing the consumer to be comfortable with one's self by putting balance and perspective in one's life, and by achieving a liberated state of mind. The essence of the brand is liberation- the relief from the stress and pressure of modern life.

TSUBO was founded in California, USA in 1997 by Nick O'Rourke, the former director of design for Reebok International, and Patrick McNaulty, former international sales and marketing manager for Sanuk, Boks and Airwalk. Atomic has represented TSUBO in the Australian marketplace since 2000, carefully placing the product in only high end department stores and leading fashion footwear boutiques. TSUBO has steadily increased it's stance and credibility as one of the market leaders for the discerning footwear consumer.
